Decent looking vehicle, good gas mileage, low car insurance? &Where to find good car insurance rates?
I filled out a couple quotes from esurance.com and allstate and i got like $2100 & $4100 premium 6 month payment. Does that mean its going to cost me that much for insurance for only 6 months? If so, that is insane. That would be $350 - $750 dollars a month. That cannot be real. My dad gave me a quote from Allstate thats what he has and it was about $117. 00 / Mth for a Chevy Blazer for 18 Year Old First Driver. I am very new to the whole insurance thing so can someone just point me in a small direction to the lowest priced insurance with good plans. I would absolutely love to have an older car oldsmobile, or between 60s&80s But thats way to pricy, along with a nice sports vehicle. Because of the gas mileage and decent look, i would like a Chevy Convert Tracker. One does not undercut the other by much and all use the same formula to determine your rate. I know because I have tried to shop rates on - line and local but could not find a different price from any of them. My 17 Yr old son was added to my policy a few months back and it more than doubled. They have it set now where it does not matter if you are 16 or 60. for the first 3 years you will be treated like a careless driver and charged as such. Fair ? NO. But its like gas. you got to have it and they know it so what can you do ? PS. I hope your hair grows back soon
- goodness, welcome to the insurance game. you may want to be on your dad's policy for as long as you can. explore every angle you can to reduce the cost like a good student discount, multiple vehicle discount, safe driver discount, etc. get a pretty high deductible, that will help a lot. and then do not use the insurance unless you absolutely have to. just eat any minor damage you may sustain from backing into things, minor fenderbenders, etc. and do some checking about the vehicle. I am thinking a tracker convertible will be considered an SUV and therefore at a higher risk than a regular car. it did not help the trackers that the suzuki samarai had all those problems with flipping over in turns. the suzuki samarai and the tracker are the same vehicle, basically. so the tracker has the same bad rep for flipping over those are the only way i know to keep the rates down. good luck
